Mogers Drewett raise £1000 as they continue to support local foodbanks in Bath, Sherborne & Wells in 2023

Three Food Bank 2

Local solicitors, Mogers Drewett is delighted to be able to start 2023 with a donation of £1000 to three food banks local to their offices in Bath, Sherborne, & Wells. The money was raised by staff who sold raffle tickets in December 2022.

Sean McDonough, Managing Partner of Mogers Drewett explains, “Mogers Drewett want to focus this year’s charitable activity on the food banks as we can see how deeply the cost-of-living crisis is affecting our communities and we really want to help.”

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses who donated some amazing prizes and our team who sold hundreds of raffle tickets, we are delighted to have been able to help local food banks who are seeing an unprecedented rise in demand for their services.

Grainne Moher the manager of Bath Foodbank, one of the Genesis Trust projects said, “We are so grateful for the support of local people helping other local people who are in crisis. We are seeing more of our community needing to receive emergency food, household supplies and access to ongoing support at our Foodbank Centre’s. Financial support such as this will help us to continue to support local people in desperate need this year.”

Sue Marland, Senior Pastor and Foodbank Manager at Wells Vineyard Foodbank said, “We are now spending around £1,800 per month on groceries and other essential items as demand has outstripped the traditional donations of long-life products. Financial support such as this, is a lifeline and will help continue to support local people in desperate need.”

John Crossman, from Sherborne Foodbank said, “We are extremely grateful for the immense generosity of so many local people and of partners such as Mogers Drewett. Sadly, at the moment demand is the highest we have known it in our area and is growing by the week. Your support provides a lifeline to people in desperate need and enables us, on your behalf, to express the concern of our community to help our neighbours though these difficult times. Thank you.”

Sean continues, “We see this as the start of a longer-term relationship through 2023 which will include the firm encouraging staff to volunteer at food banks and working with the food bank team to identify additional support needed in 2023.”
