Dependable support for Wills, trusts and estates
Whether you want to put a Will in place to make sure the people you love are looked after, or a loved one has died and you need some guidance on the next steps, our wills, trusts and estates experts are here to help.
Our experienced solicitors know everything about the administration of wills, trusts and estates.
We can help you with:
Making a Will
Although it can be an emotional process, making a Will gives you peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out and your assets will go to the right people. You’ll also know that loved ones will not have to pay more tax than they need to or end up in unnecessary arguments about what you may or may not have intended.
Estate administration
When someone dies they leave behind a lifetime of possessions, money and sometimes debt that needs to be distributed and paid. From contacting the deceased’s bank and other institutions, notifying beneficiaries of their entitlement, through to advice on more complex issues such as trusts and the effect of someone not having a Will, we provide a service that’s personal to you and your family.
Trusts
Trusts are used for a number of reasons, sometimes to protect your assets or provide protection for vulnerable individuals. They are a very tax-efficient way of sharing out wealth between generations as part of a tax-planning exercise.
Probate
Probate is the legal right to deal with someone’s property, money and possessions (their ‘estate’) when they die. Everyone must apply for probate before administering a deceased person’s estate. Applying for probate will differ depending on whether the deceased had a Will or not. We can help you apply and support you through the process.
Contentious probate
If you are an Executor or due to benefit under a Will and you are experiencing difficulties, we can help. Our contentious probate solicitors will let you know where you stand on an inheritance dispute or help you defend a claim against the estate. They make it their goal to solve disputes quickly and sympathetically.
