FAQs About Divorce – How much will my divorce cost?
In this series of mini blogs the Family Team at Mogers Drewett address the most commonly asked questions around divorce and separation. In this week’s blog Victoria Strode looks at the cost of divorce.
Divorce is often a financially, as well as emotionally, difficult time. Couples may already be feeling the financial impact of a separation and the prospect of spending money on legal fees may seem daunting. The family team at Mogers Drewett understand this, and can tailor our costs to best suit your needs.
We offer a fixed fee initial consultation package to all new clients which will include an initial meeting (usually lasting around 1 – 1 ½ hours) and follow up note of the advice given at that meeting. At portion of that meeting will be spent discussing costs and the most appropriate options for you which may include agreeing a further fixed fee or working with you on an ‘as and when needed’ basis.
Whilst costs are likely to be less if you and your partner are able to agree matters; sometimes there are complex issues to resolve and/or we need to initiate court proceedings. These can be costly but again we can discuss these and funding options available to you, such as litigation loans to meet these fees.
It is important to get legal advice early about your rights. Please contact the family team on 01225 750000 to arrange a fixed fee initial consultation with one of our specialists.
