Eboni Beckford-Chambers teams up with the Duchess of Sussex for Coach Core netball shootout
Mogers Drewett trainee solicitor, England netballer and Commonwealth Gold medalist Eboni Beckford-Chambers teamed up with the Duchess of Sussex for a competitive netball shootout against the Duke of Sussex at the Coach Core graduation ceremony.
The Royal Foundation’s Coach Core programme takes young people aged 16-24, who are not in education or employment, and trains them to be sports coaches and positive role models and mentors in their communities.
Hosted at Loughborough University, Eboni and Meghan’s team featured gymnastics coach Scott Hann and tennis star Laura Robson. They competed against Prince Harry’s team which included basketball player, David Robinson, marathon runner Paula Redcliffe MBE, ex-England cricketer Mark Ramprakash and former England rugby player Ugo Monye. Although Eboni and Meghan’s team had a strong line up, Prince Harry’s team won the sporting event.
Following the graduation, Eboni Beckford-Chambers, trainee solicitor at Mogers Drewett said: “As an ambassador of the Coach Core programme, it’s really exciting to see the students graduate as they look forward to a career coaching the next generation of UK sportspeople. Being able to pursue a passion for sports and a career requires dedication and commitment. By combining these, Coach Core creates a positive environment for young people to get the best education and experiences to develop both personally and professionally.”
The Coach Core programme is supported by the Duke and Duchess’ Royal Foundation and now has nearly 300 graduates.
