The importance of technology in keeping families together

The newspapers and tabloids will often publish stories of celebrity divorce or couples arguing over their yachts, countryside mansions and beachside retreats.  However, for many people the reality of a divorce means that they are facing the prospect of stretching the family’s resources from supporting one household to supporting two.

This can be particularly challenging when there are children involved as parents will want their children to be able to continue enjoying a reasonable standard of living and often items such as laptops are not top of the priority.

For children whose parents are separated, being able to access a laptop or iPad to video call can make all the difference in maintaining their relationship when they don’t see both parents in person every day.

At Mogers Drewett, we are committed to supporting families in our area and so we have teamed up with Wiltshire Digital Drive (WDD). The WDD refurbishes donated laptops and redistributes them to children and young people in the region.

In an increasingly digital world we feel that no child should be left behind simply because they do not have access to the relevant I.T. For more information on how you can get involved and make a difference to the lives of many people in our community visit the website today http://www.wiltshiredigitaldrive.org/
